Kier Mechanical & Electrical (KME) are an internal MEP self-delivery business within the Kier group, supporting the internal regional businesses across the UK and the Strategic Projects business on complex and challenging projects. The business has a full design, construct and commissioning capability. We are looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer, to join our delivery team on our Pirbright project. The project is a c.£70M scheme with c.£25M MEP across the project. The project is a new build containment and laboratories for the Pirbright Institute. The project will require extensive commissioning and demonstration. The project is currently in the early stages of construction with planned completion November 2021 and a commissioning period up to May 2022.
Key Responsibilities As the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you would report to a MEP Section Project Manager and have the full responsibility for the MEP delivery of the mechanical services supported by and electrical biased colleague with further responsibilities for management and control of off-site manufacture production, logistics and installation.
What are we looking for?
Ideally, the successful candidate will hold relevant industry qualifications with a minimum of SMSTS (or equivalent) SHE qualification, demonstratable experience in people management, Programme and Sequence management, and in safe control of mechanical systems. You should also be able to demonstrate a high level of competence in digital construction methods BIM & Field tools, commercial awareness and Risk Management. What will you receive?
