We are looking to recruit a Senior Design Manager. The main purpose of the role is to co-ordinate and integrate the activities of our external design consultants. Assist on pre-construction activities and tender opportunities, to control and interrogate the activities of external design consultants.

Job responsibilities

The succesfull candidate will manage the design process during the pre-construction and as required, the construction phase. The production of a Contractor's Proposal document in liaison with other internal departments. Also to be able to drive innovative and cost effective solutions into the design while also to progress design issues within a strict timescale & ensure designers meet information delivery dates. To be able to review Sub contractor design proposals. Also to verify & control status of consultants and subcontractors drawings and specifications & maintain registers. To ensure the consultant scope of services, responsibilities and fees are agreed and to facilitate the completion of a project risk register.


What do we need from you?


To be successful in this role, we're looking for those with a solid experience in a senior design role with a main contractor; have an understanding of different Client procurement routes; experience of site/contract procedures; and have an understanding of Building Regulations and Planning Permission procedures.
