Job Title: Senior Planner

Location: Newcastle

Business Area: Build Scotland & North East


Kier Construction are currently looking to recruit a Senior Planner to be based in Newcastle. This is an exciting time to be joining the team, as along with a healthy order book which will see you working across multiple schemes, ranging anywhere from £100k to £50m, you will also have a pivotal role to play in further tenders across the MOJ / MOD / Healthcare and Educational sectors. We are looking for a time-served Senior Planner with experience in Tender Programming, as well as having the day to day responsibility of weekly reporting to the Senior Team of any project / programme updates.


Responsibilities:

  • Production of phasing plans and programmes to determine construction sequences from "first principles" with assistance from engineering/construction.
  • Co-ordination of input from all departments into the programme.
  • Production of Tender Programmes, working alongside the bid team.
  • Progress of programmes with site teams and highlight areas of concern and introduce mitigation measures.
  • Regular site visits to assist site teams with planning matters.
  • Liaison with site teams regarding input into programme development.
  • Collation of progress information and production of progress reporting.
  • Update Programme following Change Control procedure


What?do?we need from you??

You will need to hold the relevant qualifications, along with a solid history of working on build tenders and projects with a main contractor. We will also need you to be an experienced operator of Primavera P6 and Microsoft project software.
