Protocol is delighted to be working with an education provider in Greater Manchester in the recruitment to the position of Head of Estates & Capital Projects.

The post-holder will ensure that all Estates Management Services and Health and Safety are conducted in a way which providers a high quality learning and working environment and a continually improving level of service to customers whilst optimising performance and value for money.



Role responsibilities
To manage and provide leadership of the day-to-day activities of the Estates and Security team and ensure a customer focus.
To manage and maintain the college property portfolio through planned and reactive maintenance
To advise and assist the Director of IT Services, Estates and Health & Safety on the design and procurement of external contracts, including the preparation of contract terms and conditions, tendering, evaluation and selection.
Be responsible for ensuring that all capital work carried out on behalf of the College complies in full, with statutory legislation including being fully compliant with Health and Safety Legislation, Local Planning requirements and Building Control Regulations.


The person & qualifications
Degree level qualification in relevant field e.g. Commercial Management / Project Management / Real Estate, or equivalent generalist/technical qualification or experience
A minimum of three years' experience working in a Facilities Team is essential
Experience of managing and monitoring a team is essential.
Experience of managing a portfolio of capital and revenue projects including developing and delivering a programme management function to ensure outputs and outcomes are delivered to agreed timescales and budgets is essential.
Experience in managing projects and delivering programmes of capital improvements within a college is essential.
