The Capital Projects Team work on refurbishment and new build construction projects across the Blue Light, Health, Education, Retail and commercial sectors with values up to £15 million on a national basis. The activities we undertake range from the design and delivery of complex refurbishment and new build projects up to the value of £15m, where we are able to utilise our team's broad skills base, through to small regional projects for valued customers.
Kier Specialist Services are recruiting for an experienced Bid Manager to join our passionate Capital Projects Team. With our diverse portfolio of projects, we are looking for a Bid Manager who has a passion for the project at hand and securing work whilst also being able to work within a good and healthy team environment. We understand this approach is essential to ensure we consistently win work and secure repeat business. You will be working on a portfolio of projects predominately in the residential and occupied building arena, ranging from large refurbishment projects to cladding remediation and small construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
As Bid Manager your role will be key to planned and sustained business growth through the production of client focused bid proposals within our core markets across the UK.
This role will focus on leading and owning the tender management process and working collaboratively within or pre-construction and operational teams. An integral member of our team, you'll coordinate and manage the production of high-quality bid submissions from initial expression of interest through to final submission, taking ownership of the process and content. You will need to ensure the management and production of tender submission, whilst attending pre-tender and post tender interviews.
We'll look to you to assemble & manage the bid team; manage the bid qualification process for new opportunities; take ownership of the bid programme and process, from inception through to submission & beyond; and coordinate tender queries/amendments, assessing impacts, and advising the bid team.
What are we looking for?
Can you do it? Yes, you can - if you have demonstrable experience of developing winning proposals and proven ability to produce high quality written tenders - ideally with a sound understanding of the social housing sector.
Whilst you won't be writing bids, you'll ideally have had bid writing & administration experience with a proven track record of quality writing, as you'll be managing & motivating the bid team, whilst managing & influencing stakeholders at a senior level.
