We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to join our engineering department at our flagship Bardon Hill Quarry. You will be responsible for day-to-day control of the Electrical section – driving, overseeing and supporting all personnel in delivering pro-active electrical safety and maintenance across the site. About the role Your Very knowledgeable in all aspects of service, inspection, installation, testing and fault finding of electrical equipment of various supply voltages, the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor’s contribution is key in driving excellence and a continuous improvement culture both within the Engineering department and wider across the site. Other key deliverables include; Be a role model and commit fully to delivering safety excellence at all times Act as 8.1(d) appointed person under Quarry Regs., with respect to site Engineering & Maintenance activities Issue and control work for the Site Electricians and, where appropriate, Third Parties and Contractors Respond to plant breakdowns – ensuring it is returned to production in a timely manner, and temporary fixes are followed up with a permanent solution Deliver regular safety briefings, Toolbox Talks and Site induction training When required, fully deputise for the Site Electrical Engineer Assist the Site Maintenance Planner and Electrical Engineer to schedule and plan electrical works Contribute to the preparation and development of safe working methods for maintenance activities and complete all safety related documentation for maintenance activities Coordinate routine maintenance and shutdowns to achieve maximum plant availability and manpower efficiency Coordinate and organise manpower, shift cover and overtime working based on workloads and maintenance plan(s) Contribute to the site Electrical Safety Management System (ESMS) as required Engage and lead Engineering Teams for fault finding, troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis Confirm electrical competence by regular assessment of team members; advise on department training, assist in its preparation and presentation where required What will you bring? A highly motivated individual with drive and enthusiasm Ability to work effectively alone as well as contribute in the team environment as part of a 24-hour, 7 day a week operation Experience in safe working practices, permits to work and ‘live working’ rules and procedures Experience with fault finding and identification and repair Work on a wide range of plant and equipment Knowledge of IEE Wiring Regulations Knowledge of installation and tracking work, how to label cables, and circuits, correct identification from drawings and document work and modifications Strong understanding of health and safety Experience in the electrical engineering maintenance industry What can we offer you?
