The Technical Support role will assist our Front-Line Managers in Developer Services Delivery with the safe and efficient delivery of our onsite and complex off-site main laying programme within IMDS. It will help the team meet our CDM and Water Quality obligations and meet performance goals by assisting with the collation of key Health & Safety and performance documents, while supporting our site activities. This role works across both our Housing Estates and Main laying Schemes (HEMS) and our New Connections work streams. This role is an opportunity for someone hoping for career development within Development Services main laying.
You will need to have a full UK drivers' licence, NRSAW Supervisor training, SSST/SMSTS or IOSH training, Temporary Works supervisor training and a CDM awareness qualification.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure water quality / hygiene standards within POSWSH are achieved consistently using water quality reports etc.
- Collate and review key health and safety forms such as near miss/hazard spots, HAVs, PUWER and CAT performance data, making sure issues raised are resolved
- Ensure items of the health and safety folder are in place and site is ready for hand over to networks
- Assist with CSIR reporting and action closing
- Audit scheme documentation in line with health and safety standards
- Review speeding reports and escalate driving infringements
- Collate toolbox talk material and assist with delivery
- Investigate customer complaints and managing through to resolution
- Assist with excellent case management where required
- Assist with onsite customer liaison activities e.g. preconstruction, face to face engagement
- Complete customer closes out calls
- Work to minimise customer contacts by encouraging a right first-time culture and driving our teams to deliver service excellence to all customers and stakeholders
- Ensure customer literature is up to date and support with distribution
- Make sure team livery is compliant and up to date
- Drive behaviours learned through our 'Make Today Great' training
- Work with the planner to help coordinate the scheme delivery including sand and backfill orders and material checks
- Manage tester self-lay sample programme
- Look to manage low risk tasks/schemes including creating scheme packs with relevant RAMs
- Where requested, brief the scheme delivery pack to the team on day one of all new schemes
- Embed the inspection test plan regime by reviewing documentation including Electrofusion joints, butt fusion joints, bolted flange joint inspections, backfill inspection
- Review commissioning paperwork i.e. fire hydrant cards, as laid drawings, line and level forms
- Where required, print work packs and design drawings for operational teams
- Reviewing street works performance data including section 74's and defects
- Join and contribute towards pre site and pre comm meetings
- Ensure plant and vehicles are serviced as required and deal with break downs or changes
- Review expense claims
- Complete mileage and plant returns
- Review plant report and actions issues found
- Review track sheets
- Attend commercial meetings to review performance, cost and performance improvement plans
- On board new starters
- Proactively manage LTL programmes
- Support operational team with people management duties
- Support the team with IT issues including tablets, workday and sharepoint
- Engage with our LIFE programme to ensure our employees mental health is supported
- Experience and knowledge of CDM
- An understanding of Water Quality regulations
- Some experience of water mains construction
- Experience working with mobile devices and Oracle
- Experience of Developer Services operations
- Experience of working with OMC technologies and SAP ALM.
- Financial and commercial acumen
- Proficient with office 365
- Knowledge of company IMDS strategy, policy and operational processes POSWSH and regulated hygiene requirements
- EUSR Water Hygiene
- SHE Water or CSCS
- Manual handling
- Overhead power lines (GS6)
- Full UK driving licence
