Location: As this is a project specific opportunity, the role will be based in Basingstoke for 18 months during preconstruction phase, before transferring to site in Harlow for 63 months.

Kier is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a highly successful team in delivery of a new high containment science facility for Public Health England in Harlow, Essex. The facility is part of the UK's national infrastructure and will be one of the largest, most complex facilities of its type in the country. Designed and Built to the highest standards, the facility will include a range of science and laboratory facilities including CL2, CL3 & CL4 suites, MRI suites and complex M+E and process systems.
Job responsibilities
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor with our Strategic Projects team, you will be a key member of the commercial team reporting to the Project Commercial Director and be responsible for procurement and contract administrative duties as well as providing commercial and contractual support to the wider Kier project team. Your role will include upstream and downstream commercial management including preparation of valuations, positive cash management, valuation of variations, contract administration and dispute management, preparation of monthly P&L reports and ensuring the team exceeds KPI's. Not forgetting to assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and implement Kier Group's policies for risk management.
What do we need from you?
Working on healthcare, pharmaceutical, MOD and aviation projects valued from £100m plus, we are looking for like for like industry experience.
The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate having recently worked on an NEC 3 Option A design and build contract with relevant pre-construction and construction stage procurement and contract administration experience with a focus on the bottom line and maximisation of profitability.
We will also need you to have a relevant Construction industry degree level or equivalent qualification and have proven experience in a similar role and be an excellent communicator and presentation skills.
