We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Engineer/ Consultant to join our Highways Value Added Engineering (VAE) Technology Team in Birmingham (Currently remote working). The successful candidate will provide advocacy, strategic guidance, research and development support, technology advice and project assistance to clients who wish to implement innovative and state of the art (or legacy) ITS and solutions.

What do we need from you to be successful in this role?

  • Proven track record of delivery in ITS consultancy and/or design, or transferable field
  • Knowledge of ITS, Highways England Technology Assets, Infrastructure, loT, Telco., IP technologies and their applications
  • Ability to organise, plan, programme and manage workloads
  • Effective and confident communicator, professional in approach and presentation, with the ability to build relationships and interact effectively with business and client stakeholders at all levels
  • Analytical, investigative, solutions finding, and problem-solving skills
  • Good report writing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels
  • Self-motivated and ability to motivate others to excellence
  • Flexible communication style. Able to tailor communication to specific audience, particularly to communicate complex concepts in an unambiguous way for non- technical audiences
  • Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure
