The ideal candidate will ensure the effective and efficient end to end delivery of their portfolio of schemes or associated jobs so that they meet Suffolk Highways and other client's expectations on programme, cost and quality. A large part of the role will be to take responsibility and accountability for the project management of schemes to ensure tasks relating to delivering design, construction quality, timeliness, risk and the commercial side are completed in accordance with Suffolk Highways processes and procedures. There will be an expectation to provide effective and efficient maintenance of the Suffolk Highways' contractors plan. Duties also include carrying out the project management function to develop and maintain the forward works programme. Support design and operational team managers to ensure the quality of schemes meets assurance procedures in checking, certifying and authorising design activities, drawings and documents. Ensure that effective programme management processes (including risk management) are followed. Manage the end to end delivery of schemes, ensuring a RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues & Dependencies) log is kept for each programme of work. Assist in the communication of programme performance, time and outcomes in a timely way across Suffolk Highways and other stakeholders. Monitor and communicate the financial performance of assigned schemes and administer change control where necessary.
What do we need from you to be successful in this role?
- Project Management qualification e.g. Prince 2, MAPM, or demonstrable experience in a relevant role
- A minimum HNC/HND qualification in related relevant discipline (relevant to engineering or programme / project management) or equivalent demonstrable experience related to programme management and or project management
- Diploma in Management Studies, an equivalent relevant post-graduate management qualification or demonstrable experience in personnel management/development and programme management/planning
- A good level of finance acumen when reporting and tracking spend/costs.
- Good working knowledge of software systems such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Powerpoint
