Site Manager - Electrical & FRA Refurbishment


Location: Lakenham, Norwich

Business Area: Kier Capital Projects - Electrical & FRA works

Contract: Full time hours; Initial Fixed Term Contract until March 2022

The Capital Projects Team work on refurbishment and new build construction projects across the Blue Light, Health, Education, Retail, Commercial & Residential sectors with values up to £15 million on a national basis. The activities we undertake range from the design and delivery of complex refurbishment and new build projects up to the value of £15m, where we are able to utilise our team's broad skills base, through to small regional projects for valued customers.

Kier Places are currently looking to recruit an experienced Site Manager to join us in Norwich on an occupied residential tower block Electrical & FRA refurbishment, where you will report to the Operations Manager and take responsibility for the management of all site activities on the project. Your role will be key to ensuring projects are safely delivered on time, to the highest quality and to budget whilst achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

As our workload is increasing, we are looking for an individual who has a passion for the project at hand, and securing work, whilst also being able to work as part of a closely knit team that has the opportunity to develop and control its own destiny. Key Responsibilities

As our Site Manager on this project, you will lead, manage and develop a high performing well-motivated team through effective leadership and communication; you will link in with the wider internal and external teams; and using your operational expertise, you'll ensure risks are identified and mitigated whilst co-ordinating subcontractors and suppliers in a planned and controlled manner.

As a Site Manager your duties will include the day to day running of site where Kier are replacing the lateral electrical mains supply throughout the building, as well as refurbishment of emergency lighting, fire doors, and fire alarms.


What do we need from you?

The ideal Site Manager would you have extensive experience of a similar role within the social housing/decent homes maintenance sector, with good exposure to M&E Projects and Fire Safety Works, however, those with a construction build background will be considered.

You should be qualified or certified in SMSTS, CSCS/ECS Black card, First Aid, and Asbestos Awareness, and you should also have a proven track record of leading and inspiring teams to achievement, excellent communication, organisational and influencing skills.

As a bonus, you should be degree/HND-level qualified in a Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering related subject, and extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques & best practices.
