In this rewarding role you will help drive the transport infrastructure skills strategy across the Kier Group contracts. The successful candidate will support the highways team to achieve their commitments in the SLNT and social value delivery plans, this will be via careers and employability events, building relationships with local schools, colleges and other relevant organisations, encouraging a diversity of new entrants, working in partnerships with local charities, social enterprises etc. You will work collaboratively with supply chain partners to deliver on the SLNT commitments, including setting targets, monitoring progress and reporting on outcomes. From a reporting aspect it be a requirement to report the progress of the SLNT delivery plan to the Skills Manager on a quarterly basis, furthermore you will review and update the SLNT delivery plan on an annual basis and agree the commitments with the Skills Manager
Using stakeholder management skills, you will work with the highways early careers team to bring new apprentices into the contract, in line with commitments as well as liaising with the communications team to promote activities internally and externally. Wider duties will be managing the training of staff, this will include, tracking compliance against the mandatory skills matrix to ensure they have the competencies to do their role safely and effectively, building a training plan in line with the identified gaps and development requirements, booking training with internal trainers and external providers as required, liaising with individuals and managers to book training in the most effective way and keeping accurate training records within relevant systems
What are we looking for?
- Previous experience of delivering employment and skills initiatives
- Good written skills in creating reports/documentation
- Experience of collaboration with the supply chain
- Able to build relationships with a range of stakeholders both internal and externally
- Demonstrate own initiative, be proactive and highly organised
- High attention to detail
- Passion for delivering social value in the communities where we work
- Full UK Driving Licence
