We have a unique opportunity for a proactive, people orientated Maintenance Supervisor to lead the day to day maintenance and planned preventative maintenance at our Lytag factory, at Drax power station, near York. You will be an experienced manager with a proven track record managing or supervising in a similar environment and ready to take on your next challenge at our state of the art, multi-million pound factory. About the role Lytag was first manufactured in 1958 following a research project to develop a lightweight aggregate from power station fly ash. In 2013, a new, state of the art multi-million pound factory at Drax power station near York was built. The process transforms fly ash into small, round, very tough pellets. These can be used as a superior lightweight aggregate which is up to 50% lighter than its natural counterpart and has been used in many unique applications across the UK most notably to build some of the dramatic London skyline including the Shard. Reporting to the Factory Manager and working as part of the Lytag management team, you will supervise two maintenance operatives and a site electrician to ensure maximum plant efficiency. Other elements to the role include: Role modelling safety excellence, high engineering standards as well as contributing to, preparing and developing safe practices (including repair procedures). Collection and compilation of maintenance data and site KPI’s and monitoring of monthly maintenance budget. Tracking and implementing the sites planned preventative maintenance schedules. Responding to unplanned repairs, plant breakdowns and other requirements. Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping keeping areas clean, tidy and hazard free. Assisting in the application and compliance with rules, health & safety and environmental policies, ensuring all activities under your control are conducted within legislative requirements. Inducting and managing contractors for maintenance activities throughout the site. Effective utilisation of all plant, equipment and facilities to ensure optimum runtime equipment efficiency. Maintain good industrial relations with staff; show demonstrable commitment, leadership and integrity. What will you bring? An experienced maintenance background with a resourceful nature ideally electrically biased High levels of motivation, strong initiative, drive, enthusiasm and proactive approach Demonstrable ability to be able to work to deadlines under time pressure with a can-do attitude. Commitment to the pursuit of excellence, every day and in every way. Able to work flexibly as part of a 24-hour, 5 day a week operation as required supporting the operation.
