Experienced compliance officer with insurance industry or financial services background required to join the European arm of this Fortune 500 insurance business. This would suit an insurance/financial services compliance professional. As an important member of the small but wide-ranging compliance team, the successful candidate will operate across all facets of the compliance function, advising, implementing, reviewing and reporting on insurance, legal and financial regulatory compliance across the business for this diverse and growing company.

We are looking for an exceptional individual with demonstrable experience in financial services compliance, preferably within the insurance sector. You will understand how PRA/FCA and Lloyds regulations impact such a business.

Working within the existing compliance regime, you will be a vital member of the team ensuring the business remains fully compliant with all regulatory requirements while also being in the forefront of innovative and effective compliance processes. These are designed to deliver appropriate levels of assurance while facilitating efficient operations. The remit is broad and will include carrying out routine and on-going compliance monitoring of the

business, including claims and underwriting SLAs, licensing, financial sanctions, AML and

financial crime, fraud and complaints. You won't just deliver reports, but will be expected to recommend and then oversee the implementation of solutions to identified non-compliant procedures. You will contribute to the annual compliance plan and reporting calendar and carry out thematic reviews in accordance with that plan.

As well as project-based work, you will also be responsible for ongoing assurance activity. This will include identifying developments in laws and regulations applicable to the business and ensuring appropriate internal communication of these requirements. You will provide advice internally about the application of internal control policies and assist in the development of appropriate compliance training materials and delivery of training.

A strong compliance background is a given. You must have some previous experience in a similar industry. Ideally you will also have a degree level qualification. You will have a thorough comprehension of the regulatory regime and compliance mechanisms associated with it. A confident and effective communicator with the demonstrable ability to influence and win the confidence of colleagues and regulators at all levels, you will be comfortable participating in meetings and delivering well written and argued reports. Financially literate, you will have an excellent grasp of data analysis (from both a quantitative and qualitative perspective) and will be able to use this to identify risk areas and trigger points.
