Leave a positive legacy as a Fire Safety Assistant

Part of our core Construction division, our Kier Places teams are experts at working in occupied properties to deliver maintenance, compliance, fire safety and refurbishment services, and help build lasting local legacies in the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the role, reporting to the operations manager, you can expect to support the successful delivery of fire safety works programmes based on the outcomes of fire risk audits. You'll prepare compliance reports for the team and client ensuring that they are on time and contain sufficient information - maintaining our excellent relationships with the clients. Other responsibilities include; answering any queries and clarifications regarding fire risk audits, ensuring buildings are safe by identifying fire hazards, helping clients meet legal obligations around fire safety as well as supporting the facilitation of smooth fire risk assessment programmes.

Alongside your role, you will undertake a Level 4 Fire Safety Inspector qualification. A nationally recognised qualification perfect for a buildings/maintenance professional looking to upskill or for housing/construction professionals with a desire to move into a fire safety workstream.

What do we need from you?

We're looking for someone with a high level of attention to detail with the ability to communicate at all levels. You'll be self-driven, have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to manage multiple projects at the same time. You will have previous housing or constructor-based experience (buildings or facilities maintenance), alongside previous Fire Safety/Project Management experience and qualifications.

Whilst the base office location is in Loughton, Essex you will be expected to travel to different sites in the region to undertake work duties. Due to this, we require the successful candidate to hold a full driving licence.
