JOB TITLE: Estates Manager
LOCATION: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
SALARY: £34,275-£38,521 per annum
QRS are working on behalf Peterborough College and are currently recruiting for an Estates Manager to join the team on a full-time permanent basis. You will be responsible for managing the estates service for the College. The role has responsibility for the service delivery, assigning tasks, service standards, specifying and procuring project works, effective budget management and effective management of health and safety. Duties will also include managing external contractors, to ensure through project based and long-term maintenance programmes the ongoing function of the college. The successful candidate will be a College key holder and a key member of the secondary response team in the event of an emergency.
Role Responsibilities
- Provide dynamic leaderships that contributes to the creation of a culture that encourages productive team working amongst the cleaners, Caretakers (Peterborough) Estates Officers (Stamford) and the Goods inwards including issuing of work, balancing of resources and determining training needs.
- Plan and coordinate cleaning and caretaking duties and responsibilities across all College sites.
- Provide budget management for the Estates function including overtime and additional payment authorisation.
- Lead and develop a high-quality service for the College including cleaning, caretaking/estates officers, goods inwards, grounds maintenance, and other customer facing estates services and areas.
- Co-ordinate the implementation of the Estates strategy, liaising with staff and contractors.
- Develop a capital plan for ongoing estates and maintenance projects including refurbishments and replacements within agreed budgets.
The person & qualifications
- Educated to Level 3 in relevant area or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
- GCSE/Level 2 in English and Maths at grade C or above.
- Substantial experience in Facilities Management.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety and Fire Management Regulations.
- Level 4 Management qualification is desirable.
