Assistant Building Surveyor Job in Romford
Our client is an established multidisciplinary consultancy, due to increasing projects they now require an Assistant Building Surveyor to join their team in Romford. The role offers support with APC and further progression opportunities for the right candidate.
The consultancy has long-standing repeat clients and offers an all-encompassing service to their client base in the private and public sectors. Their team of 15 is split between site inspection, quantity surveying, project management, and building surveying. They offer a friendly work atmosphere with a focus on work-life balance and cover projects in London and the South East.
Role & Responsibilities
- Working alongside senior surveyors on commercial and public sector projects
- Condition survey reports for asset expenditure planning
- Defect diagnosis surveys and reports
- Building survey reports (mainly non-residential)
- Specifying works and drafting schedules of works
- Planning and Building Control applications
- Contract Administrator duties
- Employer's Agent duties
- Party wall surveying including site surveys and dictating schedules of conditions
- Prepare detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD for roof recovering, minor alteration and internal refurbishment works (suitable for Building Control applications)
- Measured surveys and drawings using AutoCAD
- Dilapidations for commercial leases
- CDM 2015 Principal Designer duties and advisory services
Required Skills & Experience
- Ideally 2+ years' PQE
- RICS Accredited Degree
- Experience in a consultancy or private practice
- All-round building surveying experience to include contract admin and employer's agent duties
- Driving Licence and Car is essential
- Microsoft Office proficient
- AutoCAD proficiency would be advantageous
What you get back
- Salary of £21,000 - £30,000
