Project Manager Job in Manchester
Are you a Project Manager looking to work for an innovative consultancy based in Manchester? Our client, design and deliver new build, refurbishment and fit-out projects in the UK and internationally, having recently launched their Manchester office last year, they now need a proactive Project Manager to play a key role in their continued success across the Northwest Region. The role offers a salary of up to £55k + Travel / Mileage + new business incentives and a clear progression route up to Senior/Associate level.
They provide services in interior design, quantity surveying, project management and hospitality consultancy and branding. They create memorable and innovative spaces for their client base, winning several awards for their work. You will be joining the Associate Director in delivering projects for their existing and new client base across residential, commercial retail, hospitality and education sectors. They offer a modern co-working environment and the chance to make an impact in a small but growing company, currently a team of 20 in London and aiming to grow to a team of 10 in Manchester in the next few years.
Role & Responsibilities
- Establish client's brief and expectations against time, cost, exposure and quality
- Allocate roles and responsibilities to internal and external project team members and advise on consultant appointments as necessary
- Produce all relevant project programmes
- Ensure all drawings, specifications and actions are produced and distributed within the confines of the agreed working programme, and monitor performance of the design team throughout
- Recommend the main contractor and specialist sub-contractors, as well as form of contract
- Monitor the design development to ensure that the client regularly signs-off both design and budget
- Produce project progress reports, future actions required to meet post-contract obligations and minimize risk to the contractors' programme
- Manage the project team and liaise closely with all parties to ensure a successful outcome of the project
- Monitor costs and financial reporting
- Liaise with client's own installations i.e. AV, Audio
- Co-ordinate, direct and inspect all construction works in conjunction with the design team
- Undertake the snagging process with the design team
- Administer the building contract, confirming necessary variations to the client etc.
- Monitor the progress of on-site works (and off-site fabrication) against programme take action accordingly
- Conduct, chair and minute all project meetings as necessary
- Monitor the works during the defects period and inspect with design team
- Attend relevant business networking events and play an active part in developing new business
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years in Construction Project Management for a consultancy, contractor or client side
- Experienced in new build, refurbishment and fit-out projects
- Knowledge of hospitality, residential and retail projects would be an advantage, although other sectors will be considered, due to their varied client base
- Ability to manage projects from pre-contract through to completion independently
- Ideally RICS accredited degree
- Ability to travel across the Northwest
