Breedon are currently seeking a Distribution Coordinator to coordinate deliveries of aggregates and asphalt in a busy market. You will be based at Leaton Quarry near Telford, Shropshire.
This role is temporary, with an expected duration of 10 months.
The key accountabilities of the role are:
- Telephone and email contact to and from customers
- Timely response to customers' enquiries, queries and complaints in an efficient and professional manner
- Proactive planning and tracking orders to completion
- Cost-effective dispatch planning of all customer orders through active liaison with commercial, operations and transport teams
- Scheduling and rescheduling orders whilst utilising haulage fleet effectively
- Compiling and maintaining accurate records as required
- Communicating effectively with commercial and production teams and also haulage partners
- Specific support to the pre-planning of major contracts or schemes in terms of production and transport capacity planning
- Identifying and contributing to managing your own personal development in collaboration with your line manager
The key skills required for this role are:
- Excellent IT knowledge
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and work to a high level of accuracy
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- A good eye for detail with excellent written and communication skills
- Ability to work with a small team
- Be calm and adaptable in a fast-changing environment
- Be able to work on own initiative, but also to take direction when required
We are looking for a professional, experienced Distribution Coordinator who can demonstrate knowledge of road haulage. You will be an excellent communicator and be a proactive self-starter who can build effective relationships both with colleagues and customers.
Previous experience working in aggregates or asphalt markets is desirable though not essential as training will be given. A good familiarity of the local geography is desirable.
