To provide training and support to learners, business and community coworkers and families and to ensure successful implementation into the community and work environment and to seek out job and community project opportunities within host businesses and in the community. To provide coaching and mentoring support to overcome barriers to learning, participation in the community and work environment

Key Purpose:

To provide individual and small group coaching for learners in order to improve learner's engagement, employability skills and increase participation in the community.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support for the learners at host business

worksites, competitive job or community venues: job coaching, building natural

supports, identifying job accommodations, assistive technology, etc.

  • Source work experience employment placements and community participation opportunities for learners.

  • To plan and deliver group coaching sessions/workshops with learners to develop their engagement with community organisations and gaining employability skills.

  • Work with Tutor to carry out monitoring and auditing as requested

  • Communicate effectively with any other staff, tutor or family member regarding training needs of individual learners.

  • Perform specific job analysis, task analysis, and job matching activities and carry out steps of a job coaching plan with workers and other parties, as appropriate.

  • Work with learners, employers, families, job placement specialists, local authority personnel and other appropriate parties to problem solve issues relating to training, participation and employment where necessary.

  • Practice positive reinforcement techniques with worker, co-workers, and

other staff and help facilitate disability equality training.

  • Train learners in the areas of grooming, hygiene, communication,

interviewing, and behaviour as they relate to employment and participation in the community.

  • Participate in decision making processes to identify and implement

training strategies and/or services with other staff and host business/community staff.

  • To report any safeguarding, prevent and health & safety concerns through the college reporting systems.
  • To attend team meetings and those that are specifically in relation to the learners that you coach/mentor, such as pastoral support programmes or liaison with multi agencies.
  • To contribute to team and individual minimum levels of performance and target KPIs as agreed with your line manager.
  • To attend college and other relevant training sessions as required or necessary including relevant coaching and mentoring qualifications.
  • Any other duties as required by the College commensurate with grade and position.
