Breedon are currently seeking an Explosive Supervisor/shotfirer to join the team at Holme Hall Quarry, which is one of the largest quarries in the Breedon Group.
The role will involve all aspects of blasting operations including, face profiling, marking out shots, designing the blast specification, safe transfer and storage of explosives.
Other duties will include the charging and firing of production shots, liaising with the driller and development of our apprentice shotfirer.
Candidates must demonstrate a strong attitude to health and safety as well as a sound understanding of shot firing operations. The successful candidate must have or be working towards their NVQ level 3 in shot firing and the MPQC shot firing/explosives supervision card.
Although not essential, it would benefit to have licenses for loading shovels, and articulated dumpers.
