Breedon are currently seeking an Operations Manager for our National Highways (NH) delivery joint venture business - Breedon Bow Highways Limited (BBH). The role will be based at our head office at Breedon on the Hill near Derby.
Reporting to the General Manager you will lead BBH to obtain the required financial, sustainability and safety performance across our operational areas which currently includes the Midlands and East NH areas, mostly as Principal Contractor. Additionally, you will play a key role in developing relationships with NH and support the next Pavement Framework tender process.
The key relationships of the role are:
- Internally - the Operations Manager will be responsible for all operational matters in the JV, reporting to the General Manager at an operational level. The team will work collaboratively and proactively with multiple internal stakeholders, including but not limited to Breedon GB Materials management team, Finance, Technical Team, Health Safety & Environment and Sustainability functions.
- Externally - the Operations Manager and team will work dynamically and collaboratively with NH, other Tier one contractors, external material suppliers and the construction delivery and best practice communities.
The key responsibilities of the role are:
- Drive the health and safety culture within the JV and the NH community
- NH relationship management
- Operational best practice ensuring client minimum performance standards are exceeded
- Collaborating with internal and external key stakeholders
- Health, Safety and Welfare of employees and affected stakeholders
- Develop environmental and sustainable business solutions
- ISO accredited Management Systems compliance
You will possess the following skills and experience:
- Experience of leading and developing teams at an operational level
- Experience of key client relationship management including NH
- Ability to perform under pressure, analyse problems and evaluate data
- Evidence of influencing and driving continuous improvement
