Associate Job in Edinburgh, Scotland
Associate Designer vacancy with an expanding workplace/commercial design consultancy based in Edinburgh, Scotland. The role will see your time split across business development, management and working on a wide variety of workplace/commercial projects across Scotland. The ideal candidate will have a proven background from either a consultancy or D&B background and be looking to join a close-knit team with a strong company culture and growing portfolio of projects.
Established almost a decade ago, this small team of creatives have a good position within the sector and are now looking to expand by appointing an Associate that has strong job running skills and is able to work on projects of varying sizes. Skills in CAD are required as this role is an all-rounder position with a good mixture of responsibilities.
Role & Responsibilities
- To take the lead on projects and liaise with clients to understand and interpret the initial brief
- Assist with and provide guidance on technical drawings and packages
- Support the senior team with coordinating staff resources and time allocation
- Work with the directors to understand and establish design service fees, outline project programmes and resources
- Support with business development and marketing
- Preparing lists for deliverables, resource plans and programmes
- Site & client visits
Required Skills & Experience
- Degree qualified in interior design or similar
- 5+ years' experience within workplace consultancy/D&B
- Strong AutoCAD and Photoshop skills. SketchUp and Revit also desirable
- Proven job running experience and team management skills
- Full driving licence and own vehicle, desirable
What you get back
- Salary of circa£40,000
- Holiday of 29 days plus 4 bank holidays
- Working hours of 9am - 5:30pm
- Partial working from home arrangements until the new year
