Breedon are currently seeking a Payroll Advisor based in our Payroll Team at Lockington near Derby. Reporting to the Group Assistant Payroll Manager, the successful candidate will work effectively with other team members to deliver the day to day running of Payroll across the Group.

This is a full time, permanent position and the key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Liaise with the HR team re changes to master data and action new starters, leavers & changes to pay.
  • Prepare and upload overtime submissions generated in the business.
  • Update payroll master data, e.g tax codes, NI categories, pension scheme details, bank accounts.
  • Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls, generating reports, completing checks, and preparing reconciliation comparisons for manager review.
  • Administer accurate changes to pay associated with all absence types.
  • Run the auto enrolment process.
  • Prepare and submit RTI returns ensuring legislative compliance.
  • Deliver the standards required to comply with internal controls.
  • Resolution of queries.
  • Manual calculations / advance payments.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Any other duties as required.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong legislative knowledge, and ability to display a comprehensive understanding of Tax, National Insurance, Statutory Payments, Auto Enrolment & Real Time Information.
  • The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise.
  • The ability to deal with people at all levels.
  • The ability to maintain high levels of accuracy.
  • A desire to learn and develop.
  • Experience using Midland HR's iTrent software.
  • A working knowledge of processing ROI payroll.

You will also have excellent attention to detail, and be thorough and professional to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
