Bid Manager Job in Sevenoaks
Bid Manager role for a reputable and growing multidisciplinary consultancy based in Sevenoaks or London. The role will involve managing the Bid support team's output with the aim of securing new projects across London and the Southeast. The role offers a salary of up to £55k + Bonus + Travel + Flexibility to work remotely.
The consultancy offers a multitude of services to include project management, surveying, cost consultancy, and design management, and specialise in residential, affordable housing, major regeneration and remedial projects for developers, RPs, and Local Authorities. Made up of around 100 employees and 4 offices, they are continuing to grow with a strong pipeline of work across London, Midlands and the Southeast.
Role & Responsibilities
- Managing the bid support team's output (PQQs/SQs/ITTs)
- Producing non-technical content where necessary, ensuring content written by others responds to questions asked, formatted correctly
- Grammatical and sense checking ensuring the bid is ready to be submitted by the required deadline
- support the bid co-ordinators "kick-off" meetings in reviewing and analysing the requirements of the bid with the Technical Directors
- Monitor and action tenders mailbox
- Express interest and download tender documentation
- Log & diarise opportunities
- Deliver bid requirements
- Check compliance re; relevant experience / insurance / turnover
- Formatting instructions ie, font, page/word limits, formatting restrictions
- Method of submission ie. online portal questionnaire (possibly plain text only), upload (check file size limits etc.)
- Working with MD and team and Directors to build and implement an internal governance procedure for responding to tenders (e.g. pursuit decisions, gateway reviews, approvals and post submittal activities)
- Working with the team on the development of templates in Canva and MS Word, helping to improve the 'look and feel' of our proposals (in line with branding guidelines). Provide support and training to wider team on their use
- Working with MD to audit and maintain our library of pre-written content (e.g. standard responses, technical content, project sheets, graphics, images and diagrams)
- Support to Directors on pre-positioning and capture planning for upcoming opportunities.
Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ Years' experience as a Bid Coordinator or Bid Manager
- Must have knowledge of construction bid writing
- Excellent command of the English language both grammatical and communication
- Consultancy or Contractor experience
- Excellent knowledge of Canva / Acrobat, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio
- Experienced in creating bids for residential projects would be advantageous
- Experienced in dealing with Local Authority / Housing Associations would be advantageous
