Job Title: Supplier Development Manager, Highways

Location: Nationwide, this is an agile role where it will be office/home based and include some travel

We are Kier, one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure services, working on projects including local and strategic highways.

We are now recruiting for a Supplier Development Manager to join our Highways supply chain team to support and develop our extensive supply chain partners.

Key Responsibilities

As Supplier Development Manager you will progress the supply chain maturity journey of both Kier and the supply chain through regular and early engagement which develops trust and openness in relationships throughout the supply chain. It will be your role to support the supply chain in reducing cost (not margin), creating efficiencies and increasing mutual value.

A key part of your role will also be to encourage innovation and creative thinking within the supply chain, and facilitate the development of supplier capability and capacity.

You will improve the integrated performance and capabilities of both the supplier and Kier through joint development activity. Update supply chain regarding changes in legislation, regulation, systems or procedures. Feedback areas of supply chain performance for improvement and development. Establish the root causes of identified problems and develop intervention or correction as required.

We are seeking candidates who?

  • experience across sectors other than Highways will be valued'
  • Have excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to confidently measure and manage supply chain performance
  • Have experience in improvement of environmental performance and sustainability agendas
  • Demonstrate experience in developing fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion and engagement (FREDIE)
  • Can travel and hold a full driving licence
