Gleeson Recruitment Group are supporting a market leading utilities firm in the recruitment of a Financial Modelling Manager. The business in question is an established FTSE 100 constituent with a fantastic culture & high performance working environment, providing ample opportunity for both personal and professional development.

You will be responsible for designing, developing and operating a suite of Excel based models to evaluate alternative regulatory treatments and options to aid the development of organisations pricing strategy. You will also play a key role in understanding and using financial models developed by key external parties.

The successful candidate will also be involved in the price review process, including an assessment of the financeability of alternative packages and development of business plan submissions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand the modelling requirements and design a suite of models to meet them
  • Develop the suite of Excel models
  • Operate the financial models to evaluate alternative frameworks and treatments
  • Develop and run scenarios and sensitivities
  • Review external financial modelling to ensure it appropriately reflects the framework and as a cross check of the businesses modelling
  • Perform financeability analysis
  • Develop the models to ensure modelling requirements for business plan submissions are robust

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Either a Chartered Financial Analyst or Fully Qualified Accountant
  • Strong Excel skills including the ability to write and understand macros
  • Very high attention to detail
  • Good communication skills such that complex industry regulator mechanics can be converted into Excel modelling and explained to others
  • Sufficient finance understanding to model corporation tax, accounting statements and credit metrics
