City College Plymouth currently have exciting opportunity to join as a Full-time, Permanent Workshop Technician with a competitive salary of £18,031 - £18,354.

In addition to your salary, you can expect an annual leave entitlement of 29 days pro rata for this role, plus Bank Holidays and additional College closure days over the festive period. Role Responsibilities
* Preparing workshops / resources and assisting teaching staff during practical sessions.
* Undertaking regular checking and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure that it is in safe working order.
* Constructing training media, simulation rigs and systems involving new technologies.
* Arranging the annual maintenance of electrical equipment.
* Carrying out an annual stock check.
* Maintaining stock records.
* Distribution and reclamation of materials.
* Ordering materials, checking delivery notes and invoices.
* Showing a positive and responsible attitude towards safety and hygiene within the College, by maintaining a clean and tidy working environment.
* Carrying out safety checks along with COSHH and Risk Assessments for existing and new practices for the curriculum and for tools and equipment.
* To produce instructional material and safe systems of work for equipment.
* Undertake a First Aid qualification and administer first aid if necessary.
* Undertake such other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as may reasonably be required.
* Transporting Students between campuses.

Person Specification
* Relevant experience within a workshop environment in the Engineering industry
* Knowledge of health and Safety regulations
* Understanding of modern industry equipment & practices
* The ability to deal pleasantly and efficiently with colleagues and clients at all levels, both internal and external.
* Good organisational skills coupled with the ability to operate efficiently under pressure at peak times
* The ability to prioritise own work
