Breedon are growing! At Breedon we have an opportunity to join a newly developed BI team with an exciting plan and long-term vision. We are seeking an experienced Tableau Analyst to build, deploy and embed our Tableau platform into the business.

The Role

As we set out on the journey of moving towards a data led organisation, we have identified the need for an individual to transform the Management Information and Reporting that is provided across Breedon.

We are looking for an exceptional individual who can source and transform data, as well as build Tableau Dashboards which are visually appealing, easy to understand and provides the business with the insight required to make decisions. Insight will help us to transform the way we work, making us more effective, efficient and profitable for the future. We are looking to exceed the requirements set out by our stakeholders.

As a new team with the Business Services Division we are seeking an individual to undertake the following:

Person Specification

Experience and knowledge:

  • 3+ years experience working with Tableau
  • Strong ability to determine which types of visualizations work best with different scenarios.
  • Understanding the effects of different architectures and how they impact performance.
  • Best practice approaches to creative design which promote appealing, functional, and accurate dashboards.
  • Interacting with and presenting to users throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Process mapping and supporting documentation production
  • Test plan formulation and managing through to resolution
  • Proven strength in conceptual and logical thinking

Key Outputs

  • Development of Breedon's Management Information (MI) and reporting to deliver industry leading and best practice visualizations across the Group
  • Supporting the delivery of Federated Model in which divisions and teams can develop their own MI and reporting to service their own needs in a simple manner
  • Work with the BI Manager and a variety of roles from Finance Directors, Management Accountants and Commercial Managers to gather requirements, to deliver enhanced insight
  • To support data and reporting activity on other projects such as the integration of new divisions and Financial systems improvements projects
  • Embed a process of continuous improvements within the Information Services Team
  • Highlighting and supporting the resolution of data quality issues at source with the business
  • Creation of high standard documentation to support ETL and Tableau development
  • Working with and developing business intelligence software to align how Management Information and reporting is provided across divisions
  • Critical risk and issue escalations to the BI Manager
  • Reviewing systems performance and identifying system issues including troubleshooting and fixing related problems to exceed customer expectations
  • Scheduling training and supporting team members and end users in the use of Tableau
  • Representing Information Services (as needed) in Working Groups
  • Designing and implementing internal system controls (preventative and detective) to provide quality assurance over financial data
  • Management of user security

Skills:

  • Curious nature that enables uncovering data availability and data quality constraints early in the process.
  • Ability to impart knowledge and offer options to other SME's that may also be developing dashboards.
  • Working with multiple projects data sources at one time delivering solutions that enable insights into complex data sets
  • Working with multiple stakeholders concurrently
