Interior Architect Job in Exeter

Interior Architect job with a workplace design and build firm based in Exeter. This small close-knit team have a variety of projects in the local area and are looking to expand their team with this new appointment. The ideal candidate will be from a design and build background with strong technical skills and understanding of working with commercial clients. The role offers a salary of up to £40,000 plus hybrid working!

Established over two decades ago, this practice has built up their reputation within the industry and are known for their success in transforming office environments across London and the Southwest. Providing a range of services from space planning, consultancy, to full relocation or refurbishments, the projects are varied and provide an excellent opportunity for an experience interior architect to be in a well-rounded position with an expanding company.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Assist with and carry out site visits and surveys
  • Production of technical drawings; including floor plans, GAs, elevations, and custom joinery/furniture
  • Liaise with the client to propose and agree upon specifications and finishes
  • Lead client meetings and communicate technical designs and specifications throughout the design process
  • Work alongside project managers and wider team to understand and ensure projects are meeting deadlines
  • Assist with concept designs and creation of presentations and documentation packs

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years' experience in commercial design, workplace/office design preferred
  • Experience creating detailed technical packages and drawings, including bespoke furniture and joinery
  • Prior involvement in all stages of projects
  • Strong AutoCAD, SketchUp, InDesign and Photoshop experience
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Ideally degree qualified in interior design or similar
