We are Kier, one of the UK's leading Construction and Infrastructure services, working on projects such as Hinkley Point C and Mogden Sewage Treatment Works. Kier Infrastructure Major Projects are currently recruiting for a Works Manager to be responsible for ensuring site works is planned and undertaken in a safe, timely and cost efficient manner, as well as in accordance with project plans, design drawing and the programme.

Key Responsibilities

In this exciting Works Manager role, you'll be assisting in the definition and interpretation of the scope/objective of the project. You will ensure construction operations/materials are in compliance with project requirements and will be responsible for stopping work at any time the safety or quality of the work is in question. Liaising with design, planning and engineering teams, you will control the short and medium term look ahead programme to ensure timely and economical completion. The Works Manager will ensure all site operatives are employed in accordance with the Working Rule Agreement and will be managing the General Foreman, Section Foreman and Foreman, ensuring they carry out their key responsibilities and duties.

What do we need from you?

A forward thinker, with the ability to make suggestions and improvements where required. You'll have demonstrable knowledge and practical application of site construction activities, as well as management of staff, operatives, and subcontractors. HNC (construction related) or NVQ Level 2 required, along with CSCS card and Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS or SMSTS). Personal Track Safety (PTS), preferable.
