Breedon are currently seeking a Digital Project Manager to join our team in Lockington near Derby. This role is key in developing and delivering our digital objectives and roadmap across all divisions of the Breedon Group and is a key strategic role that will drive forward and develop the business case and the delivery plans of our digital agenda for the next 5 -10 years.
The role will entail engagement across all areas of the business from operational teams to the Exec, being the key point of contact across the business to help teams understand how our digital ambitions can transform current ways of working to benefit our customers, employees, shareholders, and the communities in which we operate.
Our sustainability agenda and our drive to become more effective and efficient will also be enabled by this role as the plan is developed and delivered. Key to this is being a great programme/project manager within the experience and breath of delivering complex and diverse IT and business projects, the individual will have a firm track record in change management and implementing transformational change. This is a broad role which will require an extensive range of skills to be utilised.
KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE:
- To develop and drive forward the delivery of business cases including cost and benefit justification
- Development of delivery and resource plans to bring the digital deliverables and opportunities to life - thinking about what the change means for the way we operate
- Linking Strategic Business objectives to out digital ambition 'Digitalisation Roadmap'
- Driving the business to identify, define, and capturing the specific business requirements for digital enablement and the associated Management Information
- Implement project management techniques and ways of working
- Be able to communicate complex problems and issues simply
- Managing key stakeholder relationships and keeping the client informed throughout
- Ability to instil confidence in delivery with end clients and key stakeholders
- Chairing Steering Group, Project boards and other meetings with internal teams
- Co-ordinate with external third-party vendors and with internal teams
- Implementing key PMO governance practices alongside, such as creating the core documentation associated with the project i.e., Charter, Business Change plan, Change Management
- Take ownership of Risk, Issue and Dependency management
- Develop, lead, track and direct the project plan
- Regularly reviews the project phases to ensure completion on time, highlighting and mitigating key risks
- Cost Management to ensure the project considers all elements of the delivery
- Thinking outside the box and bringing innovation to delivery, to drive Breedon forward across its digital, process and people footprint
- Understand and appreciate the commercial implications and digital drivers across Breedon and incorporate these within decision making
- Adopt and foster a 'Change Mentality' and inspire other people to take the same approach
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
- Strong understanding of the digital sector, what technologies are available and best suited for an industry and project
- Scanning the digital landscape to constantly look-out and keep abreast of the latest and emerging digital technologies and implementing this into the delivery plans
- Leading complex digital transformation programmes across multiple divisions in an organisation
- Digital strategy creation and execution
- Experience of delivering IT, Business Change and Continuous Improvement initiatives across a variety of systems and business processes
- Communicating to senior stakeholders (Steering Group and MD's) simply
- Good written and presentational skills in a range of methods
- Ability to pick up and learn new business systems quickly
- Demonstrating clear and effective communication approach with the ability to engage & influence throughout an organisation
- MSP or Prince2 certification a must

- Analytical thinking - Ability to problem solve and to be able to identify, resolve and convey complex problems simply, to aid in rapid issue resolution, thinking beyond the obvious solution
- Decision making - Can make rational and informed decisions on the best course of action and be able to take the initiative, drive action and be responsible for the consequences of the decisions made. Ability to liaise with MD/FD level to operational level colleagues to galvanise consensus on approaches
- Planning and organising - Are self-managing and can think ahead to establish an effective, efficient, and appropriate courses of action. Ability to prioritise and plan activities by considering all the relevant issues and factors
- Resilience - Can maintain personal effectiveness by dealing with setbacks or when dealing with difficult situations. Can demonstrate an approach to work that is characterised by commitment and motivation. Have a 'Can-Do' mentality to resolve problems & challenges
- Communication -The ability to get messages across clearly by adopting a range of communication styles, tools, and techniques which are appropriate to the audience
- Managing Relationships - Able to liaise with clients & pro-actively manage the client relationship to build effective working relationships. Open to new ideas and with a viewpoint that 'anything is possible'.
