Breedon are seeking a Quantity Surveyor based in Falkirk, Central Scotland to join our busy and expanding Surfacing Solutions division. This is an exciting opportunity to join the United Kingdom's largest independent construction materials business.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Providing support to our operational teams on all matters relating to Contract and Commercial issues whilst maintaining the flow of information between the site and office.
  • Undertaking the measurement and valuation of works completed with submission to our client within the agreed timescales on a monthly basis with a view to maximising financial returns under the provisions of the Contract Conditions and Company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate financial control systems and report monthly on Cost/Value Reconciliation.
  • Managing the cash flow on each project ensuring collection in accordance with payment terms.
  • Monitoring and interrogation of costs in accordance with business budgets.
  • Experience of Conditions of Contract including ICE, NEC3 and JCT.
  • Support, manage and challenge Health and Safety in the workplace and record in accordance with the businesses procedures.
  • Working collaboratively with your line manager to manage Ad hoc duties in connection with operational requirements ensuring works are completed within required time frames.

The ideal candidate should have or be working towards a BSc (Hons) degree in Quantity Surveying or hold a relevant qualification with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a similar role. Previous experience in the road surfacing environment would be an advantage but not essential. This role will involve travel to other Breedon and customer locations, and therefore the job holder must be able to drive, possess a full UK driving licence.
