What does the role entail?
As a Vehicle Fitter / Coach Builder, you will be responsible for the building, conversion and fitting of new and used vehicles. This role will range from very basic lining of vehicles right up to the full bespoke build of vehicles within the fleets. You will also be at the forefront of developing new mechanical solutions for all vehicles. Other main duties will include the general maintenance of automotive mechanical systems on a day-to-day basis being able to swiftly identify any faults or issues and swiftly rectifying these. Other duties may include regular training to keep up with the varying demands on the business. Keeping up to date with all health and safety regulations is integral to this role. Finally, you will be willing to obtain the relevant security clearance for the role. No two days will be the same within this role, it is an exciting opportunity and will be a permanent role for the right candidate.
What skills will you have?
To be considered for this Vehicle Fitter / Coach Builder Engineering role you will have a mechanical and vehicle conversion background within the automotive industry. You will be able to thoroughly read and interpret engineering plans and diagrams. You will be able to competently modify and remove all vehicle components. Will be able to swiftly identify any faults found in vehicle systems and rectify as necessary. A good standard of written and verbal communication will be required to succeed within this role and a clear intention to work well within a team to achieve group results. On top of being a skilled automotive building engineer with industrial standards you will be a forward thinker possessing great intuitive with being able to get stuck into all tasks. An NVQ level 2 or a minimum of 3 years' experience within this sector is essential.
