Electrical Compliance Engineer

This role will involve taking ownership of written schemes/ maintenance registers/update scheme drawings and records. This will mean ensuring compliance in areas such as HV / LV, Functional Safety (SIL/HWS), DSEAR and hazardous area inspections, Inspection & Testing to BS7671. You will also coordinate external electrical compliance service and inspection contracts, support site in the completion of remedial actions following service and inspection visits, and ensure all electrical site drawings, as well as relevant reports and documentation, are up to date and readily accessible/available.
The successful candidate must be capable of prioritising workload, coordinating actions within the relevant legislative framework and minimising disruption to day-to-day site activities and manufacturing processes. You will be coordinating the internal training requirements for the Hope electrical team for all compliance training.
This is a great chance to create an impact on the business by providing solutions in accordance with electrical legislation and ensure that site can demonstrate and maintain compliance. You will assist in developing standardised engineering strategies for electrical functional safety across site, keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control.
This role should cover the following areas of statutory compliance:
- HV Electrical inspection, testing, remedial workflow management and record keeping (switchgear/transformers/motors).
- LV Electrical inspection, testing, remedial workflow management and record keeping (fixed plant / services/offices/ workshop facilities).
- Maintaining the works protection/grading study along with the electrical written scheme.
- Earthing network systems and lightening conductors. s
- DSEAR and hazardous areas.
- Emergency lighting, RCD and Portable appliance testing.
Qualifications, skills, experience & Knowledge required:
- ONC, HNC, City & Guilds or recognised apprenticeship in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- City & Guilds 236 Pt 1 & 2 or 2230 Level 3 NVQ 2356 / 2357 or City and Guilds 2330 Level 3 in Electrical Installation or AM1 and AM2.
- City & Guilds 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671: 2018)
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing (or equivalent)
- Relevant supervision training
- IOSH / NEBOSH National General Certificate (desirable).
