Managing Quantity Surveyor
Location: based from our Sheffield office and from home, you'll be required to attend site visits from time to time and must be prepared to travel nationally.
Business area: Kier Places - Capital Projects
Contract: Permanent, full time, Monday to Friday with agile working considered

Kier Places is looking to recruit a Managing Quantity Surveyor, who will report to the Commercial manager and work closely with the Operations Manager. The successful post-holder will be responsible for managing the commercial delivery of the Capital Projects function within Kier Places. The role will be the line manager to the Quantity Surveying resource.
You will be working on a portfolio of refurbishment and new build projects through direct tendered awards and frameworks such as Scape. Typical project values are between £50K and £7.5M and are of a construction nature. You will be joining a well-established team specialising in these works with long-term growth opportunity. Key Responsibilities
As the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will manage and develop the commercial team, ensuring workload is covered effectively and ensure compliance and processes are being followed and that training requirements are met. Ensuring commercial and administrative systems, budgets and cost control procedures are utilised you will maximise cash flow and produce accurate forecasts/budget information reports for the client whilst ensuring contract deliverables and timescales are met.
Responsible for ensuring works are valued correctly the Managing Quantity Surveyor will also liaise closely with and support the commercial procurement function in the pre-qualification, tender, evaluation, selection and award of the subcontractors, and where necessary contribute to the negotiation for the establishment and close-out of subcontracts.
What do we need from you?
The Managing Quantity Surveyor will hold a membership or working towards a relevant professional qualification or chartered status with proven experience in a similar role or ready to step up across multi-discipline projects. You will also need to have experience of managing a commercial team.
