Kier Utilities is looking to recruit a Ganger who will be depot based, supervising and participating in a 2 man gang. Ensuring safety of site, self and colleagues, quality of work and production. With a focus on reactive and maintenance work on the Western Power Distribution network.
Responsibilities:-
- General site supervision, including completion of all records as required.
- All Health and Safety issues on site, completion of records.
- Communicating with the Supervisor and other colleagues to monitor progress and inform of problems.
- To ensure all work complies with relevant Safety, Health and Environmental legislation and that recycling takes place whenever possible.
- To ensure proper use of plant and materials, keeping wastage to a minimum.
- To carry out and complete excavation and cable laying work on the WPD network as directed.
- Carry out on the job training of team members where necessary.
- Any other suitable duty requested of you.
- Work flexibly and carry out any suitable duty requested of you.
- Represent Kier in a professional manner in both appearance and attitude
- Be punctual and available for work at the agreed times.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
- NRSWA Operative
- Cat & Genny Trained
- UK driving licence
- Network experience
- Able to use an electronic device for recording work details
- Committed
- Hardworking

- Punctual
- To be a good communicator
- To be a good self-organiser
- Self motivating
- Generally to be willing, helpful, enthusiastic and flexible.
- To be able to work as part of a TEAM
- Most of all be safe.
- Have reasonable written and numerical skills
- Cable laying experience
- Sub Station experience
- 360 mini excavator /dumper.
