We are seeking to appoint an ambitious, highly effective Learning Support Assistant to join our very successful team at City College Plymouth. This is a permanent position, offering 21 hours per week, 36 weeks per year.

Job Purpose:
To support the education and development of students with varying abilities. The post holder will work closely with curriculum staff to form an effective classroom partnership to support students and their learning as directed by the Learning Support Manager and/or Senior Learning Support Assistant. The post holder may at times be in sole charge of support on a 1-1, small group and workshop basis. The post holder will be willing to work some evening and occasional Saturdays, shared with other team members.

The Person and Qualification:

You will be expected to have gained or work towards a Level 2 qualification in Maths and English
Excellent background in supporting students with learning disabilities within an educational establishment
Adaptable disposition and the ability to assist with a variety of curriculum and vocational activities, - supporting within workshop, in-class, and 1-1 situations
Good knowledge of emerging assistive technologies and IT systems
Certificate in Learning Support would be an advantage
Willing to undertake learner's personal care if required
