Senior IT Support Engineer
Breedon are currently seeking a Senior IT Support Engineer. Reporting to the IT Manager you will be responsible for the support of Breedon Cement GB which includes the UK's largest cement works based in Hope Valley.
You will be responsible for maintaining the computer systems and networks of the business which will include installing and configuring computer systems, diagnose hardware and software faults and solve technical and applications problems, either over the phone or in person and ensure users get maximum benefits from them. You will need to proactivity engage with the business to help identify areas of improvements across both the infrastructure and process improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications.
- Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks including switches, routers, server printers, other IT hardware and network patching.
- Active Directory and Group Policy management and maintenance.
- Support and management of Landlines, Mobile Phones and Desk/IP Phones.
- Application support and software installs.
- Wi-Fi installs and management.
- Talk users through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues.
- Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
- Replace faulty equipment as required.
- Respond within agreed time limits to call-outs.
- Regular site visits to engage with users face to face and proactivity evaluate any potential site improvements.
- Work continuously on assigned tasks/helpdesk ticket until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate).
- Prioritise and manage many assigned open helpdesk tickets at one time.
- Test and evaluate new technology
- Support the roll-out of new applications.
- Support the roll-out of new sites either through acquisitions or organic growth.
- Proactively support company compliance to Health and Safety legislation through adherence to company policies, processes and practices.
- Work closely when required with all members of the IT team across the group.

- Undertake any other activity as reasonably requested by management.
Essential Skills required:
- In depth knowledge of Desktops, Servers, Networks LAN/WAN including cloud-hosted solutions.
- Knowledge of firewalls, proxies and antivirus.
- Ability to prioritise workload, flexible in approach to problems and use own initiative to achieve results.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Professionalism and confidence at all times.

- Be able to manage their own schedule workload
- Be prepared to visit any sites across the group for short periods at short notice which may include overnight stays.
