Breedon are currently seeking an Assistant Quarry Manager based at Temple Quarry in the South East Scotland Region. As part of the Operations Team the Assistant Quarry Manager will support the Quarry Manager who is responsible for the safe and efficient management and operation of the Quarry. The Assistant Quarry Manager will supervise the daily operations, and have a "hands on" role to ensure the timeliest and cost-effective production of all materials produced on site. The Manager is responsible for two sites and relies on the Assistant Managers to take full control of operations in their absence, ensuring the health and safety of all persons on site is maintained and the correct policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:-

  • Responsible for any statutory procedures and reporting, in line with the license to operate the quarry
  • Responsible for the monitoring of the condition of plant and its performance whilst ensuring the effective use of maintenance services to ensure its ongoing capability therefore, working with preventative maintenance schedules
  • To ensure focus on production i.e. targets and quality to achieve the agreed customer requirements and specification
