Commercial and Quotes Administrator

Location: Centenary House, Basingstoke

Business Area: Kier Facilities Management - Public Sector Contracts

Contract: Permanent, full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Kier Places are recruiting now for a Quotes and Commercial Administrator to join our Facilities Management Commercial team at our Basingstoke office, to work as a member of the quotes / billing / invoicing team to produce accurate Estimates / Quotes and ensuring that work is charged to the client in a timely and presentable manner. Key responsibilities will include producing accurate Estimates and Quotes for Tier 1 and Tier 2 works for our Public Sector contract, the monitoring and reduction of contract work in progress and reporting on contract performance.

Key Responsibilities

In this exciting and varied role, you will provide commercial administrative support to both the Billing and Quotes Team's - this will involve communicating with internal and external customers with the aim of achieving accurate & right-first-time quotes and estimates, reviewing & challenging appropriately for value and transparency and ensuring information is prepared and presented to permit accurate and timely billing of works to our clients.


The Commercial Administrator will review and analyse the cost data for labour, materials, plant and subcontractors to ensure charges are allocated to the correct job number as well as review the job cost information in Oracle and Concept to ensure all works undertaken are correctly charged to our clients. Provide Support to our Quotes Team to review and verify labour & material rates are in line with agreed rates; ensure estimates are produced using Schedule of Rates (SORs) or where appropriate Bespoke Rates, and ensuring appropriate margins are achieved.

You'll also be liaising with the appropriate Quantity Surveyor, Contract Manager or Helpdesk Team to obtain supporting information or technical advice to resolve pricing queries.

This role is a good introduction to the business for someone wishing to start a career in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Contracts.

What do we need from you?

If you have previous experience of billing, finance, quotes, project or commercial administration along with excellent communication skills and Microsoft Excel proficiency - ideally within the Facilities Management industry - this could be the role for you.

This is a great opportunity for someone working towards a Quantity Surveying qualification, or you may have a background as Project Admin, Commercial Admin or in Estimating, but you will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all stakeholder levels.
