THE ROLE
I am seeking a GRADUATE GEO-ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER to join a firm of consulting engineers in their Warwickshire office.
You will be involved in delivering Geo-Environmental services for sectors including residential, industrial, rail, health and other types of construction projects.
You will be involved in both Geotechnical and Enviromental assessment of sites, undertaking ground risk assessments, report writing for ground investigations, geotechnical design reports, remediation method statements and material management plans.
You will undertake Geo-Environmental Assessments of sites that may be contaminated.
You will prepare site investigation logs utilising AGS Data.
You will learn specialist drafting and design software such as SlopeW and DQRA.
You will liaise with clients and local authorities.
You will undertake site supervision of remedial works.
My client will provide further training to work towards becoming chartered with either CEng or CGeol.
THE COMPANY
My client is a successful firm of engineering consultants with a number of UK offices and expanding.
They provide civil engineering, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering and geo-environmental engineering to a wide range of clients.
THE CANDIDATE
You will need to have a Degree in a relevant discipline e.g. Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geo-Environmental Engineering.
You may also have an MSc in Geo-Environmental Engineering or similar.
You should be keen to work towards chartered status by following a structured career development process.
You may be a new graduate or have up to several years post graduate experience ideally gained in a similar role with another firm of consulting engineers.
You must have good written and verbal communication skills.
It would be preferred if you have your own transport to get to sites.
You will need to be working for another firm of construction consultants or multi disciplinary consultants in the construction industry.
You will need to have gained some experience as a Quantity Surveyor - ideally either having done a Year Out during your Degree or post graduation or your could be up to almost taking your APC. You could also be doing your degree on day release and have gained some experience as a QS.
You must have worked as a QS on projects from feasibility through project delivery and handover.
You will be conversant with pre and post contract duties.
You must have excellent English to write formal reports and documents.
Salary is negotiable according to your level of experience plus pension and other benefits.
