We are looking for an apprentice to join our Payroll Team and undertake a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship that will give you the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience in starting out a career in Payroll/HR.
The purpose of the Payroll Admin Apprentice is to provide highly effective and efficient administration support to the Payroll team. Payroll is the beating heart of any organisation, and here at Gleeson's we pride ourselves on working collaboratively with our colleges to ensure everyone is paid accurately, on time, every time.

Main Responsibilities
Outline of core responsibilities of the position:
- Monitor payroll email inbox and distribute to relevant person or deal with queries when possible
- Answer telephone calls
- Monitor incoming post for the payroll department
- Help employees with access to online payslips
- Arranging hire cars for employees
- Update company car spreadsheet
- Apply changes to employee payroll records and general payroll administration
- Complete earning enquiry forms from councils
- Enroll employees into the healthcare plans. Via online portal and update spreadsheets
- Update P11D data for company cars, fuel cards and healthcare
- Update business mileage log sheets
Working Hours:
- 36.5 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm
- Friday 8.30am to 4pm
- Day release or other specified attendance at a local College to obtain L3 Business Administrator
Ideal Candidate
- 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C), including English and maths
- Strong communication skills with people at all levels in the business
- A respect for confidentially
- Computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to build relationships and rapport with colleagues
- A commitment to self-development
- A good team player
