Renewco Power has a great new role - we are looking for a Solar PV Project Engineer to work with our Technical Director based in Madrid, Spain. We are expanding the team to cope with the workload on projects in various countries that we are operating in and if you have the right experience, we would like to hear from you if you are interested in working in a flexible, agile environment with some very experienced utility scale developers and technical experts.
This role will be responsible for the full project design from initial feasibility studies to Ready to Build (RtB) status in all areas i.e. PV, electrical, mechanical, structural, all using CAD tools and simulation software.
Key activities and responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to the Development team to enable system feasibility assessments, preliminary layouts and yield studies, drawings and any other technical documents to obtain all the needed permits, tenders and pre-construction design of Europe, UK and US projects pipeline.
- Liaise with Development team to coordinate design requirements, studies, scheduling and for estimation of project CAPEX, OPEX and time scheduling.
- Work with outsourced partners to provide, check, control and approve customer focused PV system designs for Utility scale projects.
- Challenge our partners to have a constant optimisation in our designs, technically and cost wise.
About you:
Skills, qualifications and experience:
- Qualification
- A degree or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering preferred, however other engineering disciplines will be considered
- Experience
- At least 3 years' experience of designing PV systems for buildings and utility scale
- Fluent in Spanish and English
- Technical concepts, tools and software
- Have a thorough understanding of engineering concepts and principles specifically renewable power system design, mechanical design, electrical design, structural design
- You must be a quick and enthusiastic learner and show attention to detail
- Proficient in working with CAD software
- Proficient in working with PVsyst
- Solar PV Project design experience in a technical role at an EPC or Engineering consultancy
