Gleeson Recruitment Group are supporting a growing B2B service organisation on an exclusive basis as they seek to appoint a Financial Controller to their team based in the East Midlands.
The business in question has demonstrated a real resilience to challenges faced over the past three years and now with a robust in-year performance our partner has exciting plans to continue gaining market-share.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director and managing a team of four people you will lead the accounting function and ensure that financial records are correctly maintained within a strong governance and internal control framework.
You will be a key point of contact across all areas of the divisions executive board , Group Finance and Internal Audit and you will also manage key relationships with external parties such as customers, suppliers and external auditors.
Key responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Lead month end close ensuring timeliness, accuracy, completeness and compliance with Group policy
- Lead Working Capital and cash-flow reporting and forecasting
- Balance Sheet integrity including monthly report to CFO regarding risks and opportunities including plans to clear
- Ensure internal control is maintained with sufficient segregation of duties across all areas of finance - Key understanding of business processes and control mechanisms
- Oversee any Financial Transformation / Projects including replacement / upgrade of financial ledgers
- Key contact for Group, responsible for understanding all reporting requirements and ensuring that they are met
- Tax compliance contact for group - including VAT and implications of TOM
- Main point of contact for external auditors and Group reporting for review and completion of Statutory accounts for all relevant entities - including Technical papers for areas of accounting judgements
- Develop team of direct reports - understanding the needs of those undertaking professional qualifications
- Technical contact for Group accounting - ensures changes in Group accounting policy are understood and assess impact on results of the business
- Treasury contact including renewal of bonds and guarantees as necessary
