Kier Places provide essential property services to local authorities, councils, schools, the NHS, housing associations, and public sector government buildings - we are recruiting now for a passionate & experienced Fire Safety Advisor to join our Technical Excellence & Compliance team, to support the ongoing evolution & growth of Kier Places, and be critical to achieving success in delivering our contracts, projects & works within the Facilities Management & Housing Maintenance sector, with a national reach & local passion.

Fire Safety Advisor (Level 4 HNC Scheme)

Location: Flexible working available, where you will be based out of our Loughton office with home working available and some travel to other offices and sites

Business Area: Kier Places - Facilities Management & Housing Maintenance

Contract & hours: Permanent, full time, Monday to Friday including 1 day per week dedicated to learning

Salary: £30,000 to £45,000 depending on experience + car/allowance & competitive rewards and benefits

Training: Your training and development is extremely important to us. The successful Fire Safety Assistant will be enrolled on a Level 4 Fire Safety Inspector qualification to further widen your knowledge and skills.

Kier Places are recruiting now for an experienced Fire Safety Advisor with specialist knowledge relating to Fire Safety in residential properties, social housing, high-rise residential buildings, and a range of facilities such as schools, offices, council buildings, listed/historic buildings, and more.

As you will be aligned to Kier Places, which includes our Facilities Management & Housing Maintenance business streams, you will cover contracts and projects relating to social housing repairs and planned maintenance; recladding for housing association residential blocks; PFI Schools, Police & Fire Rescue Authorities; and Government, Ministry of Justice & Home Office Hard Services delivery.


Key Responsibilities

As part of the Technical Excellence & Compliance team, we will look to you to support the successful delivery of fire safety works programmes based on the outcomes of fire risk audits. You'll prepare compliance reports for the team and client, ensuring that they are on time and contain sufficient information - maintaining our excellent relationships with the clients; answering any queries and clarifications regarding fire risk audits; ensure buildings are safe by identifying fire hazards, helping clients meet legal obligations around fire safety; as well as supporting the facilitation of smooth fire risk assessment programmes.

Alongside your role, you will undertake a Level 4 Fire Safety Inspector qualification - a nationally recognised qualification perfect for a buildings/maintenance professional looking to upskill or for housing/construction professionals with a desire to move into a fire safety workstream.


What do we need from you?

You can be a Fire Safety Advisor with Kier today, if you - have a high level of attention to detail with the ability to communicate to all levels of stakeholders confidently; are self-driven, have strong interpersonal skills, and is be able to manage multiple projects at the same time. You'll need to have solid experience relating to Fire Safety & Risk Assessment, ideally with some relevant industry experience, Fire Safety qualifications or Project Management experience / qualifications.

Whilst the base office location is in Loughton you will be expected to travel to different sites in the region to undertake work duties. Due to this, we require the successful candidate to hold a full driving licence.
