Multi-Skilled Shift Electrician

Location: Hendon, NW9

Business Area: Kier Facilities Management - Public Sector contract

Contract & hours: Permanent, full time - 12-hour shift rota 4 days on/off 4 nights on/off basis

  • 4 days (6am to 6pm) worked, with 4 days off then

  • 4 nights (6pm to 6am) worked, with 4 nights off - then back to Days on & repeat

Salary: £34,000 + a rewarding benefits package

Kier Places are recruiting today for a Multi-Skilled Shift Electrician, where your role will be key to supporting the delivery of a Facilities Management Hard Technical Services solution for our prestigious client, where you will be providing planned & reactive maintenance a Government building as part of our prestigious public sector contract.

Key Responsibilities

As a focused and reactive Multi-Skilled Electrician, you will deliver a combination of electrical, and building Planned (PPM), Reactive and Extra Works engineering services, to a high-profile client building. You will be assisting in ensuring Kier deliver a safe, customer focused, cost effective, efficient, and compliant service in order to meet its contractual and legal obligations.

This will involve completing works of Electrical nature, e.g. lighting and power installation works, re-lamping of fittings and general repair, socket replacement, assisting with HVAC/air conditioning maintenance, and other general maintenance works within your abilities relating to building fabric, lighting, plumbing, water, compressor & heating.

What do we need from you?

We're looking for a Qualified Electrician (e.g., Level 3 City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent) with 18th Edition Wiring and Inspect and Test (2391), and who is able to demonstrate general Engineer competence.

As a bonus, you may also have Working At Height, PASMA, IPAF certification, L8 Legionella awareness, F-Gas qualifications, or have a valid Government Security Check (SC) Clearance.

You should have prior experience within a commercial building or facilities management environment, with the ability to conduct a variety of building & facilities maintenance tasks, including but not limited to: electrics & lighting, water & plumbing, HVAC, AHUs & compressors.

This is a shift position with 12-hours per shift, on a 4 days on/off 4 nights on/off basis. You should also be prepared to go through a Government SC Clearance before working onsite, which can take 2+ months to complete.
