Job Title: Senior Civils Estimator

Location: Hybrid working - Home & office (Sheffield or Manchester) based with travel to site

Business area: Utilities - Yorkshire Water, Severn Trent Water & Northumberland Water

Remuneration: £55,000 - £65,000 + car or allowance and excellent benefits

Contract: Full or part time

We have a new opportunity for a Senior Civils Estimator to join our Kier Utilities team. In this position, you will be working on a variety of non-civil engineering projects for Yorkshire, Severn Trent & Northumbria Water. The projects are all pre-construction, i.e., earth works, FRC structures and pipelines. You will be an expert in your field, responsible for compiling estimates of how much it will cost to provide a client or potential client with products or services.

Key Responsibilities

  • As the Estimator, you will be responsible for producing and updating budget estimates for projects for internal adjudication and delivery.
  • Working closely with the central estimating team to review estimates and costings
  • You'll be providing estimating advice to persons such as Delivery Managers, Project Managers, and Commercial Team.
  • We will need you to establish the target budget for incorporation into NEC3 & NEC4 Option C contracts and Fixed Prices for incorporation into NEC3 & NEC Option A contracts.
What do we need from you?

  • Civils estimating experience within a utilities industry
  • Familiar with NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
  • Microsoft Office applications knowledge, estimating software/ systems, including or similar to Causeway Estimating Software (CES) and presentation techniques and bottom-up pricing.
  • Experience in reviewing and interpreting all the material available including surveys, drawings, and other documents available to establish a Target Budget or Fixed Price
  • A full valid driving licence
