An exciting opportunity for an experienced Tunnel Supervisor to join Kier Highways in Stanford or Polegate Depot. This role reports to the Regional Tunnels Manager. The main purpose of this role to support the Tunnels Manager to ensure schemes and planned maintenance programme works are delivered safely, to cost and to programme.

Key Responsibilities

The Tunnel Supervisor will supervise the delivery of any Area 4 Tunnels schemes and planned maintenance programmes. Engage and attend meetings with National Highways to support the ongoing delivery of schemes and planned maintenance programmes efficiently and effectively. Implement and maintain schemes related processes and procedures on the Area 4 IMS and ensure that they are followed. General maintenance such as - Fire Alarm Checks, meter readings, lamp changes within tunnel service buildings, supervising our specialist supply chain during maintenance closures, contacting on call engineers if a fault may arise during out of hours and general housekeeping within and around tunnel service buildings, ensuring quality of work and maintaining work standards by self-delivered teams and contractors. Be a port of call on a call out Rota to rectify any issues within are tunnels. Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general Health and Safety responsibilities as set out in the Health and Safety Management System (SHEMS).

What do we need from you?

  • Experience in the management and maintenance of Highway assets
  • Experienced in the successful delivery of maintenance / construction projects to tight time and budget constraints
  • Experience of managing technology and electrical systems / upgrade scheme delivery
  • Conversant with the Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Positive attitude to the delivery of maintenance through collaborative working in a partnering environment
  • SSSTS/SMSTS or similar level of H&S qualification
  • Electrical and Mechanical Engineering qualified
  • Low Voltage/High Voltage AP
  • HERS / ECS Registered
