South-East based and able to visit our Dartford office once or twice a week with occasional visits to our offsite manufacturing facility at the Centre of Excellence for Modern Construction, Nottinghamshire.

  • Our Research & Development team supports the global Laing O'Rourke business through improving delivery, certainty and productivity, and advancing our reputation as leaders for innovation and engineering excellence.

What will the role look like?

  • We have an opportunity for an Engineer to join our Research and Development team to play a key role in our innovation and sustainability strategy and transformation to an absolute zero-carbon built environment.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

  • Great communication and influencing skills, and the ability to critically analyse and challenge.
  • A keen interest in existing and emerging material technologies, and how to leverage these to evolve traditional practice.
  • Degree qualified in Civil / Structural/ Chemical or Building Services Engineering, or other industry recognised technical or engineering qualification (e.g. HNC, HND, NVQ level 4) plus demonstrable experience in a civil/structural design or delivery environment.
